The work was never staged and was thought lost to history. 250 years later, a single copy was discovered. From August 20-31, Volcano and the Classical Music Consort re-imagine Handel's love-triangle in its Canadian premiere at the iconic Gladstone Hotel. Ticket buyers will be assigned specific characters on the night of a performance who they will follow for the duration of the opera. With a modernized English libretto and a live baroque orchestra, these three singers will seduce audiences as they travel through the hallways, bedrooms, and bars of the Gladstone Hotel exploring the inevitability - and impossibility - of love.
