Friday 8 November 2024 - On Indigenous Veterans Day, the City plans to honour those brave individuals who served through the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, peacekeeping missions around the world, and who continue to serve in the Canadian Armed Forces, in a ceremony led by Grandmother Vivian Recollet and in the presence of the Toronto Council Fire Eagle Staff. The ceremony will start outdoors with a sacred fire to welcome the ancestors – the warriors that have gone before us – and continue with the sharing of stories about Canada’s Indigenous military history, and those who have served and continue to serve.
All are welcome to attend. - 100 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5G 1P5, Canada -
