Sunday 6 October 2024 - Get closer to the works of Nuit Blanche artists Anique Jordan (i've come to find this place), Coryn Kempster & Julia Jamrozik (Closer Together) as they discuss ways of collapsing distance and inviting audiences in through imaginative approaches to story and space.
Anique Jordan is an artist, writer and curator who looks to answer the question of possibility in everything she creates. Her work challenges historical and dominant narratives and creates what she calls, “impossible images”. Jordan considers different logics of time, the Black surreal and the marvelous as it relates to the Black Atlantic experience.
Coryn Kempster & Julia Jamrozik create spaces and objects that interrupt everyday situations and focus on social infrastructures. Their work builds community by fostering playful interactions in physical space and alternative documentation methods as forms of historic preservation.
