Saturday 25 May 2024 - The Downsview Airport (a.k.a. YZD) performed a vital but somewhat hidden role in Canada’s aviation history for almost 100 years. Venture inside the administration buildings and massive hangars where Dash 8s and other De Havilland and Bombardier planes were built. Learn about how the airport operated, what planes flew in and out, and what role it played as a military base and facility. Attendees will have an opportunity to stand on the newly decommissioned taxiway overlooking the airfield and hear about the planned future for the site.
