Wednesday 10 April 2024 - CONTINUUM: a range or series of things that are slightly different from each other and that exist between two different possibilities.
2018: Artscape Gibraltar Point Residency accepted 2 artists. 2019: 3 artists joined the 2. 2020: the world changed. 7 artists postponed their residency. When plans were upended these artists committed themselves to finding inspiration on Zoom & talk about their work during their at-home residency week. A plan was hatched to challenge each other. One artist showed their art; the remaining 6 responded in their voice in their medium. Eventually we became the 7 Works Collective. During lock downs we listen to each artist describe their process, including showing preliminary sketches. We are not all painters, we learned about other mediums during our Zooms.
