Get Hooked On Responsible Fishing

Saturday, 25 November 2023 - Join Archer Pechawis, member of Mistawasis Nehiyawak, Saskatchewan, to learn how fishing has sustained people on these lands since time immemorial and continues to be an important practice. But with fewer wetlands and more people sport fishing, the animals who call water home are being impacted by hooks and fishing line. Mariah and Nicole from Rouge National Urban Park will explore the impacts of irresponsible fishing on marsh birds and turtles and what is being done in response to ensure human wildlife co-existence. Special guest appearance from Randy, a three-toed box turtle. For more information or to register please call the branch at 416-393-7663 - 269 Gerrard St E, Toronto, ON M5A 2G1, Canada - Event Details
