Zagros- Neda Mirbagheri Solo Exhibition

Zagros- Neda Mirbagheri Solo Exhibition - "Zagros is a solo exhibition of the artist Neba Mirbagheri. The latest acrylic works are inspired by the Iranian tribal carpet, or Gabbeh, that are woven by the Qashqa’i tribe. The Qashqa’i tribe live in the mountain range of the same name; Zagros. Neda Mirbagheri is a Toronto-based artist. She was born in Iran and has lived in Southeast Asia prior to moving to Canada. She began her study of painting through private classes while in high school. Neda's passion is to paint. Her art education is mainly self-directed and she has attended in various painting workshops and classes to hone her painting skills in drawing and oil painting. Neda's style is inspired by a simple amalgamation of Persian Carpets and Gabbeh. She translates the traditional geometry of carpets to the modern abstract art. “There is no specific idea at the beginning… colors call to me to blend them and roll them on canvas. I paint as if I am weaving colors, inspired by my heart and mind and the canvas has the ultimate power to stop my thoughts until the time next time. It’s the colors call and the canvas’s cut!” - Neda Mirbagheri The Qashqa’i migrate like birds time to time to survive. They migrate in winter to warmer places and in spring they migrate back to the mountain skirt and the women begin weaving carpets in the fresh air. The traditional Qashqa’i women work hard and weave carpet, Gabbeh. They love, smile, and shear sheeps wool. A lot of unspoken words have been buried in their heart. Tons of challenges during moves with families and kids between mountain skirts in different seasons. Although they all are together, work, live and love, taking care of each other is a daily job. Despite in the real world, they are lost." Register online at: https://zagros.eventbrite.com. Queen Gallery.Queen Gallery
