Dr. Sanogo will deliver his lecture prior to the screening and return afterwards for a QandA session with the audience. Aboubakar Sanogo is an Assistant Professor in Film Studies at Carleton University. His research interests include African cinema, documentary, world cinema, colonial cinema, and the relationship between film form, history and theory. He is also a film curator, and has curated programs at the Smithsonian Institution and the Pan-African Film Festival of Ouagadougou.
